Database Integrity

In order to keep EQ functioning correctly, and quickly, it is recommended that you run a database integrity check around once a fortnight.

All data in EQ is stored in database files (DBF). If your computer crashes or loses power the index to the databases can become corrupt.

Running the Database Integrity option will recreate the indexes and repair minor problems with the databases. It also compresses the databases and removes all deleted records.

To begin the check, click the File Menu > Utilities > Check Database Integrity.

Leave the option Backup database first ticked and there is no need to tick the box Reload Catalogues unless you have a problem with the catalogues or have been advised by EQ support.

Note: If you are on a multi-user system all other users must be out of EQ before you run database integrity.

Once all procedures are complete you will be returned to the main EQ screen.

DO NOT interrupt the process even if it appears to be running slowly. You will corrupt your data if it is interrupted.
