Sales Opportunities

Once the Opportunities module is activated, a new section appears under Tools > Customise > Opportunities

 

Update Estimated date and value with last quotation values
Tick to enable these estimated boxes to be completed based on the last saved quotation

 

Link Opportunity to only 1 quotation

Tick to enforce that an opportunity is linked on a one-to-one basis with a quotation.

 

Automatically create Opportunity for every full quotation

Tick to have the opportunity created automatically. You do not need to manually create an opportunity, instead it will be created with settings taken from your new quote. You can then edit the opportunity after creation. This is useful if you want to use opportunities without changing the steps that staff use to record details and begin quotes.

 

Ask to update customer status when opportunity status changes

Tick to offer the change of status on the customer record (otherwise the status of opportunity and customer remain separate)

 

Open Opportunity after saving quotation

When ticked the opportunity box will display so you can create or edit the opportunity straight away.

 

Quoted Status & Ordered Status

Select the opportunity status that EQ should use when a quotation is created (Quoted by default) and when a quote is accepted to an order (i.e. “ordered”) which is Customer by default. This would only need to be changed if you add your own statuses in addition to EQ’s defaults.

Tick each to prevent users being able to create an opportunity and leave the selected fields blank
