Validation Rules

Click: Tools > Customise > Validation Rules

Validation rules appear when you click save on a quote. They consist of errors and warnings depending on the severity of the message.

Errors

An error forces you to correct it and you cannot continue to save until you do.

Warnings

A warning will let you ignore it and continue to save the quote.

You have a set of validation rules for each quote type. Click each quote type in turn to see the rules. Many rules are set as standard but you can disable them by removing the tick from the Check column.

Default errors include:

Handing Not Specified - This rule is an error and will not let you save the quote without specifying handing of units.

No Fitting Details - This rule can be an error or a warning and informs you to enter fitting details. Click the rule and click Edit to change it.

Mismatched Doors - This can be an error or a warning and informs you of doors that do not match the carcase size.

Have you forgotten... - There are multiple "have you forgotten" warnings to remind you to include various types of products.

To add a new rule

This example adds a new error for a delivery charge, presuming we have a delivery charge product code in my catalogue.

1.Click Add under the validation rules

2.Leave the message "Have you forgotten" then add sub-message "delivery charge"

3.Change the rule type to Error

4.Click Add Code to browse the product database and select the code for delivery charge

5.Click Update. Rules added by a user appear in red. Make sure it is ticked to be active.

This rule works by checking each quote for the delivery charge and if it is not present the error will show when you try to save the quote. You must add the delivery charge to the quote in order to save it.
