Use the formula variables (as input in step 1) to construct the panel formula. This panel library will hold all your individual panels.
Open the main Cut List screen and click the Panel Description button.
Example 1 - Wall Gable End
Example wall unit: 720 High, 500 Width, 300 Depth
Click Add to show a new blank row.
Enter the panel description, example Gable End.
When entering formulae below, the height denotes the direction of the grain.
Enter the formula in H to calculate the height of the panel. Use the formula variables as set in step 1.
Enter H into Height column. This will calculate the height of the panel based on the H value pulled from the quotation screen.
Enter the formula in W to calculate the width of the panel.
Enter D, which is the depth of the unit and therefore the width of the panel. This will be the D value pulled from the quotation screen.
Enter the formula in D to calculate the thickness of the panel.
Enter BT into the D column. This will calculate the depth of the panel as the board thickness (according to BT in the formula variable).
Enter the character "1" in the panel edging column; where column 1 is the leading edge and 2, 3 and 4 are the other panel edges. The "1" is the formula variable "E1" which is standard edging tape thickness.
Panel Summary Section
Enter the section name as you wish it to appear on the panel summary printout.
Example 2 - Wall Top/Bottom Panel
Example wall unit: 720 High, 500 Width, 300 Depth
Click Add to show a new blank row.
Enter the panel description, example Wall Top/Bottom Panel
Enter the formula in H to calculate the height of the panel.
Enter W-(2XBT)
W is the width of the unit. BT is the thickness of the board (see formula variables). Therefore 2 x BT minus W = panel size.
Enter the formula in W to calculate the width of the panel.
Enter D, which is the depth of the unit and therefore the width of the panel. This will be the D value pulled from the quotation screen.
Enter the formula in D to calculate the thickness of the panel.
Enter BT into the D column. This will calculate the depth of the panel as the board thickness (according to BT in the formula variables).
Example Panel Formulae for a Wall Unit
To remove a panel click Delete.
When you have completed click Update to save and close the window. This screen will grow into a complete panel library as you enter all the individual panels here.
Once you have added all your individual panels proceed to step 3 to assign the panels to the units.
