Click: Tools > Customise > Miscellaneous Configuration > Customer Database

 

These settings change the way you work with customer records.

 

Customer Name Format

Select how you want the customer name to be displayed in the customer screen, list tab.

 
Show Settlement discounts

Tick the box to show settlement discounts on the customer screen Account Details tab.

 

Validate contact numbers

Tick so that EQ will check a number has been entered into the phone number fields, rather than a user trying to skip the compulsory field by entering any other character.

 

Allow duplicate Account Codes

Tick this so that customer accounts can be created with duplicate codes

 

Default 'Find To'

Select the default "Find" criteria that appears on the left of the customer screen. Default is surname.

 

On Stop

When a customer is placed on stop you can select which facilities to disable. Tick the boxes to disable...

Override password

Enter a password so that the "on stop" lock can be bypassed by a user with password. When working with an "on stop" customer you will be prompted to supply a password.

 

Colour

Select which of these defines the colour of the customer record. This is the colour that appears on the customer screen, list tab:

 

Status - is customer status which is set on the General tab of the customer. You can create a status list with colours from that window.

 

Customer Type - is a popup list you can also set on the General tab of the customer screen.

 

Automatic Status

Update customer status

With this option enabled, when saving a quote, the customer status would be changed from Prospect to Quoted. Once accepting a quote to a sales order the status would be updated from Quoted to Customer. This option is enabled by default. You can always adjust the customer status manually,

 

Use Formatted Notes

Tick to force formatted notes on the customer screen, notes tab. A formatted note means that once it has been added and time stamped it cannot be edited. Disabling this returns the notes field to a user editable text box, meaning notes can always be edited.

 

note-add The Add Note button appears for formatted notes so each note cannot be edited.

 

Classification Updates

Select a classification if you DO NOT want it to be updated in all quotes and orders when the classification is changed on the customer record. You can tick salesman and/or source of lead.
