Wizard

Click the cab2 Cab Builder icon > select a furniture catalogue from the drop down list on the left, and click the Wizard button

 

The Wizard is designed to complete the majority of the set up for you. Your software consultant will assist you to run the Wizard most appropriate to your way of working. Please be aware that your catalogue will have needed to have been coded for Cabinet Builder by our Data department prior to running the wizard.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT RUN THE WIZARD MORE THAN ONCE.

 

From the main Cabinet Builder Pro screen, select your catalogue (ensuring Cab Builder 2 is enabled) and click Wizard at the bottom of the button stack.

 

Step 1

Select the wizard you wish to run (the wizard would be supplied in it's own folder), ensure you’ve got the correct catalogue selected, and click Next.

 

Step 2 Wizard Settings

Select which parts of the Wizard you wish to include and click Next.

 

Step 3 Material types and Material Thicknesses

Select which thicknesses of material you use to manufacture your cabinets.

You can also select a Supplier for these, and enter a default cost price per board here too.

This can be overwritten for specific colours in the next step. Click Next.

 

Step 4 Materials

This step of the wizard will create all the boards you will need within My Catalogue, and link them to your catalogue headers.

By creating them in My Catalogue you will easily be able to place Purchase Orders for these products.

You can overwrite the code, thickness/size of board, supplier and your cost price for each individual board in this screen. Click Next.

 

Step 5 Edging Tape Types

Select which types of edging you will use.

You can override the default thicknesses here, and set a default Cost Price.

This can be overwritten for specific colours in the next step. Click Next.

 

Step 6 Edging Tapes

This step of the wizard will create all the edging tapes you will need within My Catalogue, and link them to your catalogue headers.

By creating them in My Catalogue you will easily be able to place Purchase Orders for these products.

You can overwrite the code, thickness, supplier and your cost price for each individual tape colour in this screen. Click Next.

 

Step 7 Default Material Thickness

Set which thickness of material each type of panel would usually be made out of. For example, if you manufacture cabinets with 8mm backs, then set Base Backs, Dresser Backs, Tall Back & Wall backs to 8mm.

You may also need to change the panel types for Exposed Material too, if boards tend to be 19mm thick instead of 18mm.

This can be overwritten for individual colours later. Click Next.

 

Step 8 Drawer Boxes

Here, you will need to link the drawer box within your catalogue to the type of drawer box in the wizard. If the one you require is not there then leave it blank. Click Next.

 

Step 9 Default Modifier Values

Set the defaults for some of the basic modifiers here. Click Next.

 

Step 10 Finished

Click Run Wizard and wait for the progress bar to complete. You should see a system message that informs you the Wizard is complete.
